The oneness of the body and the function of the church.
by Isaiah-Phillips Akintola
Ephesians chapter 4:1-
The unity of the spirit within the body produces
A. Oneness of calling
B. Oneness of faith
C. Oneness of hope
D. Oneness of baptism
C. Unity of Christ headship and lordship.
We read 1 Corinthians chapter 12
You are the body of Christ.
There is no uncertainty that the primary theme of the message of apostle Paul to the church of Ephesus is the mystery of oneness in a highly diverse kingdom life and its system of apostolic functionality.
Understanding the oneness nature of the body admits the false apostolic/prophetic uniformity message, requires an in depth life and knowledge of the very core of the church’s existence.
In a day where Saints and the church alike are being cloned into some phase of a movement or message that only reflect one-sided knowledge of truth, teaching things that pertains to the convergence of the various spectrum of kingdom truth is highly important for the accuracy and maturity of the entire body of Christ.
As we step further into a day of spiritual clarity and the articulation of our image and identity In the forming of this present house.
The progressive nature of the spirit of wisdom and understanding have continued to speak to us in a fashion that is shifting our attention from the mere celebration of gifts, revelation and doctrine unto a more excellent ministry.
There’s certainly no doubt with regards to the importance of these three grace ministry in the comprehensive expression of a lasting house designed to unify Christ and his body.
The Arc of this present house is shifting more into a position of being adjusted and integrated into the rightful place we are designed to function as the body fully aligned to Christ the head of the church.
There are two main character components that are highly critical for the construction and constitution of a true representative prophetic priestly order for this season.
One is the revelatory role of the headship of Christ. While the second the is the revelatory nature of the Saints being the body of Christ.
The full agreement and harmonization of this two ministry is a game changer to the governmental prophetic activity of the lord in this season of the emersion of the kingdom of God.
The link of the headship of Christ back to a once disjointed body of Christ, prepares the ground for a powerful spiritual revolution within the church and the nations.
Apostle Paul indeed was a man of broadened prophetic insight and wisdom, in the sense that he was able to clearly see into what the church of his day and that of the future will be scrambling to comprehend as a body and the ekklesia.
He knew that the issue of the fall of man, in terms of him being able to precisely find stability in the truth of his identity, was going to be a major challenge which eventually opened the door for the spirit of deception and delusion.
He clearly realized that when gifts and its value system is somewhat placed above the supremacy of the ministry of the truth, there’s going to be a massive deception and a great fall away.
Paul and the rest of the apostles also knew that when the ministry of Christ headship and his body are not in perfect harmonization, the church will not be capable to walk nor function in the full capacity of its governmental assignment.
Hence, we discover the tone of his letter to the church of Ephesus. You will noticed that Paul first defined and clarified the nature and character life of the body as it refers with Christ and his body, before the issue of the functional ministry of church as Christ regent in the earth. This is highly important to the present building culture.
Regrettably, when we start talking about the ascended ministry of the church in Ephesians chapter 4, we somewhat bypass verse 1 to verse 5. In my judgment, these verses lay down the framework for the ascended gift ministry he began to explain from verse 9.
Context is the key word here if you are sincerely going to understand the restorative and reformation blueprint of this present house emphasis.
Consequently, I will like to expand a little bit with regards to the ministry of the body and the church as two different entities that function in a one unified spiritual climate.
Due to the nature of the days we live in, it is becoming more expedient that we remind ourselves of the various character nature and purpose we represent as the body of Christ, so as to precisely and effectively operate within the fabric of the present apostolic restorative initiative
Whilst our position as a church is highly substantial. I however do not think we have begun to comprehend the full revelatory truth and grace lucked within the ministry of the church as Gods regent to earth.
We need to place into perspective the deeper realities and dimensions of what the revelation of the body is in this new day.
The context of building the kingdom initiative of the father in this third day has to be exerted on the platform of a higher revelation of a true interconnected relational community life of the body of Christ.
Indeed, the body of christ is known and defined as the church, but to merely limit the entire kingdom assignment on the functional revelation of a ‘church’ does not allow us to fully explore the depth, breath, wight and hight of the mysteries of the kingdom of God amongst the saints.
I like to bring our attention to the definition of the church as a concept of a powerful organ system of community with a highly effective administrative governmental capacity.
And this is good as long as we accurately interpret the various administrative organ function of the body, and their unique chain of representation in the overall prophetic purpose of the father.
In other words, the current concept of the church suggests a position of functionality, which further reflects the position of authority, power and government.
This definition is highly crucial if we must look at our place in the execution of our mandate.
However, there are other equally important definitions and functions of the body we have to understand, and function in if we are truly going to have a holistic picture of who we are in christ and the role each of the those organ must play within the kingdom
I am sure we’ve had the phrase, the church is not an organization but a spiritual organism.
While this assertion may sound accurate to some degree. We, nonetheless, need to interpret the context of the various functions and the objective of the church, both as organism and an organized system designed to represent the affairs of God and his kingdom in the earth.
Having stated this, the current positioning and operational philosophy within the church, neither reflect, nor represent the ideals of the church as an organism and organization of divine representation.
There’s so much emphasis placed on the ministry and role of an organized church to the point that very few today believe in the place and function of the ministry of the body.
And this explains why most young believers who have received some form of truth or revelation, just want to get out of the house to express their desired freedom and liberty.
Most folks covets the kind of power, fame and fortune at the disposal of their spiritual father.
Their desire is to start their own version of ministry and enjoy the same variety of immunity their spiritual father enjoyed.
While others are just tired being asked to execute through certain routine they belief they’ve outgrown to the point of them wanting their own freedom like we observed in the life of the prodigal son in Luke 15.
There’s absolutely nothing improper for a person to begin his or her own church community if the timing and season are are if the lord.
My point however is, because people feel they’ve payed their dues, and consequently, they believe its their entitlement to be released to start their own church ministry. More so, they think they have some gifts and revelation others need to learn from.
And because leaders are discovered to have hidden agenda of merely using the gifts and grace of brethren without necessarily recognizing and appreciating them.
Seemly faithful members of our church communities no longer feel comfortable and obligated to remain and serve in the household due to several obvious reasons.
they rather decide to leave and embark on their own ministry even when their departure creates division and bitterness.
The perverted Babylonian system of church men is building today gives them an illegitimate power and authority to lord over people, specially those who are ignorant and desperate.
But people also today are becoming rebellious to the point that they start sowing the seed of subordination and discord between the brethren and the leaders. Where there is no effective accountability from leadership, in that respect there cannot be true responsibility.
It is highly relevant we start reminding ourselves of some basic, but yet powerful spiritual fundamentals that will enhance our progress and maturity in this third day.
The church is first designed as a spiritual, biological (body) house before it can then work as a true functional effective governmental Ekklesia community.
Both the organism and organization of the church aspect need to be properly sourced and aligned through doctrinal and spiritual accuracy of the father for this new day.
The issue that the torso of Christ is, however faced with is the relentless effort to merely build seemly powerful organizations, networks and church communities without allowing the body to grow through the inbuilt spiritual eco-system designed for her.
The environment that allows each organ and the various cell organisms of the body of Christ to develop to adulthood has been set up to be compromised and polluted by foreign toxic teachings and doctrinal interferences.
Hence, we are finding more people moving away from the environment that allows them to develop and be fully nurtured into their day of perfection and released to serve the father and his kingdom with a greater depth of wisdom and understanding as the eldest son was encourage to do in Luke chapter 15.
Today, the church is getting half baked spiritually proud and dysfunctional brethren who need to return back home to a father is who already waiting for them,
Entering the kingdom
We are designed to source our life, strength, grace, purpose, trust and promise through the concept of a greater vision beyond our own little world according to John chapter 15.
John chapter 15 is a vivid description of the eco-system of the church and its sustainability.
