BEHOD I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK
by Isaiah-Pillips Akintola
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
The Father is like a perfect, complete gentleman. He does not force his way into our lives and space without an invitation.
When we are preoccupied with various things, we assume are important, he waits outside the reality of what occupies our lives for such a season; he continues to knock outside of that which is called the DOOR.
Spiritually, door are the preventive measures and mechanisms, we’ve built and put in place within the given space of what we don’t want others, including, the Spirit of the Lord to interfere with. Doors are things, most times, they are the STRONGHOLDS, we have built, or allowed others to build within our minds regarding certain aspect, if not all aspects of life. Whatever we are busy that shuts the Father’s presence and approval out of our lives is certainly not good for us.
The first word in the scriptural statement according to revelation 3:20 says, behold, which immediately suggest that sight has been misdirected; focus has been compromised. When scripture tells to behold or see, it basically tells us that we’re dealing with the issue of distraction in our spiritual prophetic assignment. When prophetic sight is not fixative on its ordained purpose, we have the penitential of missing the moments of speaking and demand of the Father for.
Beyond this, we see that the Father is outside, while we seem to be inside of whatever we are busy doing or might have done that so capture and preoccupy out attention to the point we cannot see nor hear or feel the presence of the Father outside. I find this very thought-provoking, usually, the reverse should have been the case, but at this point, we are the ones that are inside, while he is the one outside, seeking audience to come into our space.
Once again, the word suggests to us how the Lord desperately long to be in communion and partnership with us. How many things are engaged in today which we have deliberately left out the Father’s principle, value and desire because we know the answer of disapproval he will give.
Since we want our way anyhow, we decide to leave him outside the door. engaging It shows us we are the ones who shut him out directly or indirectly. You know how we shut people out of our space when we know we don’t want their suggestion, advice, or opinion. I have had many people, including those I thought are lovers of truth shut him out of their lives. I am seeing like what they would call kill joy.
These individuals have gotten to the place where they want to succeed at all cost, they don’t care how the success or breakthrough comes. Have you had people make the statement, I know what I am doing is wrong, but I just don’t need you to tell me? This individual violate the voice of their conscience and the voice of the Spirit of God, and these are people who sometimes are believers, including leaders.
