PROPHETS AS APOSTOLIC BUILDERS.

By Isaiah-Phillips Akintola

…This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” Hebrews 8:5

The church in its inception

It took about 2oyear plus, after the establishment of the Jerusalem Church before the Antioch church step into the main stream of what the Church was ordained to look like in its function. For twenty years, the church birthed on the day of Pentecost, battled brethren, and colleagues who still insisted on maintaining the former, Jewish, ceremonial religious tradition as part of the New Testament community.

This engrained, religious insistence will often bring sharp argument and sometimes, quarrel and division within the leadership church community, until the Antioch model emerged, which was built on the development and maturity of certain ministry gifts like that of the prophet and teacher. Ministry gifts are divine tools and machineries for the construction of the house of God. Where there’s a lack of knowledge and ascended wisdom in the operative formation and construction of ministry gifts in the house, the Saints will not only remain immature in the ways of the Spirit, but will also lack the right inputs to grow into the full realization of their assigned purpose as ministers to their society and generation.

It is worthy of note that the terms Apostles was not mentioned in the introduction of the establishment of the Antioch Church not because there were no apostles in the formation of the church, or the ministry of the apostles had been relegated behind or rejected. No. it is because the church, by designed had already become apostolic in its constitution. It is important to note that in the formation of this Antioch community, we immediately see the introduction of the ministry of prophets and teachers, meaning they were more than one, as the apostolic arrowheads, shaping and aligning the spiritual outlook and direction of this Church that was about to go global in its outreach.

When you combine the ministry of prophets and teachers in the building up of an apostolic initiative, what you get according to Acts chapter 13 is the direct voice of the Spirit of the Lord, bringing insight, perspective, and clarity to the next marching order of the Father for his Church. The reason for highlighting these two gifts is for the single fact that their concept of reasoning and processing the things of the Spirt is by default different.

The prophet, in his delivery of eternal truth, is more poetic most times, abstract in his concept and idea of unveiling the mind of the Lord. This is well noted in the scriptures, when the Father speaks to the prophet, he will usually use symbols and similitudes, parables and proverbs, nature, and events that sometimes may even look irrelevant to establish a profound truth about the kingdom.

Half of the messages and teachings Our Lord Jesus Christ delivered were done prophetically, because they were designed to be kept for a particular season when the nobles and mature in heart can unlock them. For it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out that which has been concealed.  The frontal lob of the prophet’s brain is highly developed in its sensory experience, and that immediately explained why prophets, or those with highly developed prophetic gifts are usually associated with in-depth knowledge, wisdom, sound judgement, creativity, and problem-resolving.

The teacher

The teacher on the other hand, is very concrete, detailed, and fixative on facts, figures and doctrinal establishment of truth. He has the grace not only to search and find out the very detailed intention of the Father, particularly, through the written word, but also to see that such findings are carried out to the detail and standard of the Spirit.

The teacher establishes the Saints on the inherent word of life; he builds based on precept upon precept line upon line, a little here, a little there, until there is a thorough establishment of heaven’s prophetic agenda. He is not in a hurry; he waits until truth is arrived in whatever area of obscurity receives the right illumination of truth. He complements and regulate the fivefold ascended grace and gift of the Church.  All of these ministry gifts, especially, that of the prophet and teacher are all part of the very life and nature of Christ.

God is a mathematician and much as he is a poet! When you combine these two powerful spiritual gifts in any aspect of divine initiative, you cannot but to arrive at the place of God’s divine light and intentions.  I have had the opportunity in few occasions to encourage my audience how the Lord used my struggle in Dyslexia to build and enhance my ministry. What was defined to be a cognitive limitation, turned out to be my greatest form of strength in executing what I have been ordained to do in life. The Father has not placed limitation on any called or assigned ministry gift, except the limit he placed there for his own purpose, and the truth is we all have certain realities of limitation that are designed to be complemented and perfected by others.

My point is, I was grace and favored enough not only to have teachers around me, who stirred and compliment my gifts, but also had the rare opportunity as a prophet to be endowed with a strong teaching grace and capability to express the undiluted word of God in a very systematic manner. I consider this special combination of gifts as a great favor and honor from the Lord for a specific purpose I believe is still unfolding.

The pattern of the Antioch Church is becoming more pronounced in this season of reconstructing the broken walls and burnt gates of the Church across nations. The Father is doing what he did during the emergence of the ministry of the prophets and teachers in the early church, and we need to key into the model of this divine reformation and restoration.  How today’s church needs to take a cue from this profound apostolic blueprint, established according to Acts chapter 13.

Prophetic governmental building

I have, therefore, in few lines try to amplify what the ministry of the prophet means and represent in terms of apostolic building. The prophetic ministry indeed, has been abused and misused today, to the degree that the very intention of its function in the Body of Christ is almost forgotten.

Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. Acts 13:1

A prophet, who is also known as a seer, is an embodiment of the Father’s desire, will, purpose, and intention for creation and the building up of the ecclesia. He or she is a sent one, commissioned and assigned to operate in what is known as a prophetic office. This office is his governmental grace and jurisdiction of functionality. His office is part of the membership of the fivefold, ascended ministry gifts, established to equip and build up the Body of Christ into maturity in Christ.

The prophet is the eye and ears of the Lord within the house he is sent, while submitting his prophetic gift in mutual trust, respect, and in accountability to the core eldership represented within the local church community, and the city he operates from. Though this is not usually the case, due to the wrong, dysfunctional, administrative structure of humanist, religious system operating within most church communities.

Very few church communities today, truly reflect what a New Testament apostolic order of the church community should define and represent. The Babylonian pyramid church leadership system has completely made it almost impossible for the ascended gifts to effectively function in their divine, apostolic governmental order and pattern.

The difference between pastoral and prophetic function

A pastor, in comparison, by default, is a resident overseer, assigned by the Father in the spirit of knowledge and wisdom to feed, nurture, protect, and equip members of the household of faith under his spiritual watch.

A prophet by default unveils the progressive, revelatory truth and life of Christ to the body, and regions, in a manner that injects new and updated spiritual emphasis and philosophy of the kingdom of God in a way that brings to bear the order and values of God’s divine intent to every aspect of human existence.

The concerns of a prophet are narrow down to the moral desire, feelings, and intentions of the Father, regarding any person, situation, or condition of the earth, particularly, within his church. He or she establishes the model value, standard, and principle of the kingdom of heaven either in the place of the personal and corporate building of the ecclesia.

The core function of the prophetic office

A prophet deals with shifting in seasons and the atmospheric order within cities and regions across the earth, and such kind of prophetic office may not dwell too long in a particular region, church, or city, depending on the timeline of the sent prophet’s mandate.

Some prophets are sent to churches to help the house for a period, primarily in the reshaping of the wineskin of such house in order to be prepared and ready to receive the new emphasis and outpouring mandate of the Father for the season. Others are sent to strengthen the hand of the Setman, mostly through mutual relationship and submission, until there’s a new season of refreshing and empowered, released of grace and wisdom upon such a Setman and the house, then he’s released to another house or region as he continues to function as a true witness of Jesus Christ among the Body of Christ.

A prophet is one sent with a clear mandate to declare a fresh word of the Lord with a strong governmental, apostolic edge and authority over an atmosphere. He or she is called to disciple nations as he works with the church communities that are willing to open to his unique ministry gift.

A true prophet is nomadic by default with the grace to construct and restore divine order, foundations and spiritual pillars for the establishment of the people of God in the earth. The office of a true, ascended prophet is borderless while he’s locally based.

SOUTH AFRICA AND ITS SEXUALIZED CULTURE.

Grappling within teens girls

 Motherhood culture…

By Isaiah-Phillips Akintola

On Friday, the 6th of September 2018, I listened to a troubling presentation done by stats SA, Home Affairs, and the department of education on SABC on the impact of teenage pregnancy in South Africa.

Information from SA statistics

Numbers released by Statistics South Africa last week (30 August 2018) show that more than 3 000 girls aged between 10 and 14 became mothers or registered the births of their children in South Africa last year. Over 100 000 teenagers became moms in the same year.

The Recorded Live Births report commissioned by the state’s official statistician, Statistics South Africa, showed that a total of 3 261 girl children aged between 10 and 14 became registered mothers in South Africa last year. Of the 3 261, 1 959 registered the births, late which means the babies were born earlier.

This is a shocking information that should trouble any serious government, individual, church, or community leader. As I listen to this interview on SABC 3, I could not avoid tears rolling down my eyes as my thoughts began to ponder about the future of these children who have become mothers with absentee fathers. It is said that seventy percent of the fathers of these teen mothers are nowhere to be found, they’re identities cannot be captured on the Home Affairs database.

This is the height of irresponsibility from the men who impregnate these girls. It is likewise affirmed that South Africa is becoming a fatherless generation. Meaning that most of the children being born are growing up without a father in the house, no wonder many of the South African boys are becoming homosexuals, due to this lack of a well-defined identity by their fathers. These are all big issues that could overwhelm anyone without the required spiritual wisdom and apostolic, governmental grace to engage them effectively. When you listen to some social issues, you will immediately agree with most of the things I’ve been saying that the church needs to change its wineskin and concept of visibility and operation within society.

A weak, religious, church, philosophy does not have the required capacity for such complex, socioeconomic and sociocultural challenges.  I have had several versions of the reason why teenage pregnancy is increasing in South Africa, especially, amongst the colored and black community, but the one that shocks me the most is, teens are lured by some guys, or their parents just for the sake of the social grants that come from the government.

The question is, how much do these teenagers get from the social department that they would forfeit their future for this kind of lifestyle. Something is terribly wrong with the social fabric of this nation that requires an urgent, strategic engagement to be fixed. There cannot be a lasting economic security for South Africa if these challenges are not handled seriously and effectively. When you convert the monetary loss of this social irresponsibility from the taxpayer, then you’ll realize that the nation is actually at a loss than gain.

The money government is spending to try to manage these avoidable issues are far greater than the money they can spend on preventing and empowering these teens to become better, productive citizens. But of the cause, this is seen as a political strategy by some politician to stay in power. The government cannot continue to play political games with the lives and destiny of this vulnerable teens.

It is highly hypocritical to preach or talk about moral regeneration while the very system that drives the laws and policy mechanism of South Africa, allows pupils as young as the age of 12 to be loose and indecent, by giving them the freedom they have no mental or emotional capacity to handle. Please, don’t get me wrong, every child should, and must be given the space and the right to express their God-given or constitutional right of freedom.  We shall elaborate more on this point, but for now let’s look at this rising, destructive trend.

Irresponsible policy and leadership

The idea of promoting social rights and freedom by allowing children to have their choice in such a highly complex matter, in my strong opinion, is an irresponsible policy decision, particularly in a society like that of South Africa where it is still struggling with one of the highest rates of marginalization, poverty, and inequality, divorce, criminal activity, drugs, prostitution, and the list continues. To allow teens to experiment on drugs, alcohol, and sex is not only immoral but a failure in leadership right from the position of parenthood all the way to those in church and state power.

Experimenting sex certainly is not part of the preparation for educational empowerment, nation-building, or economic development, if you ask me. In fact, it is one of the easiest ways to destroy a nation and its economy. Such high-level call to allow teens to make a decision on when to start seeing the posit sex openly is a violation of the moral dignity of society.

To do such a thing requires a deep sense of maturity and responsibility that should first be carefully taught and nurtured, not just within the walls of a classroom, as crucially important as that may be, but by a well-informed parent, who should by default know the character formation of their children’s sexuality better than any teacher, social workers, or any other entity or group in the society for that matter.

There are certain rights that should be effectively managed and held in custody of the true ministry of parenthood, while they seek to build the right, quality character foundation that should allow their child to effectively grow up spiritually, psychologically, and biologically. The position of responsibility and accountability of the choice and decisions made in life begins from the solid foundation established through the assignment of parenthood.

It is a fact that feelings and sexual chemicals within humans are most active between the teenage and adulthood stage, yet, if the right, balance, educational interaction and relationship is formed between caregivers and parents, such period can be correctly and effectively managed with the help of right leadership from all the necessary stakeholders.

Teen sexualization

Two months back, a news made headlines on SABC news, which said that primary school children, this is the age between 4-10 are more sexually active than teens in the secondary grades. This is shameful and shocking, to say the least.  This almost sounds impossible, but of course, the truth is being told, and we sure do need to wake up to this reality.

Sometimes, you want to ask the question, where are the parents? But the fact is, we know where the parents are. Many of them are very busy trying to make ends meet; and unfortunately, by the weekend, many of the parents are both drunk with alcohol. I have seen too much of this scenario, and this is often the opportunity where these predators gained the opening into the lives of these teens.

For the rich parents, they hardly care or have the time to bother about the emotional or spiritual state of their children because they are all over the place, playing the high life as long there’s enough money for the caregivers and housekeepers to spend on the children.

These children who are regularly mentored on TV Popstars, and the irresponsible nude shows they watch, begin to emulate what they saw on the television with one another. The world of the YouTube and other social media has not really helped them. The culture of sex and sexual idolization that is accepted and practiced by the Europeans and the Americans becomes the preferred culture most teenagers want to embrace without thinking of the consequence.

South Africa has grown to become a highly sexualized society, like many other western and European countries, unfortunately, and this is not good for a nation that is highly youthful in the number of its population, and still very young in its democratic formation, and the process of integrated sociocultural ideology. The almost nonexistent or loss of the sense of moral compass of the society, in general, is like trying to take a journey without a map or a directional GPS to lead one that precise destination.

Before proceeding into the issue I’ll like to bring to our attention, I think it is critical for us to lay this foundation as we ask some key questions that should give us a sense of objectivity and direction, and these questions are, what is the collective vision of South Africa for the future? where are we going as a nation, what can we define as that point of arrival in terms of the value model of the nation?

What sort of future do we envision for our kids? Who is the architect of this visionary mandate for the nation, what philosophy and ideology foundation, formulate the knowledge and understanding of such vision for the nation?

How do we intend to arrive at that future? And lastly, dose such vision carries within its compass, a moral direction, and what informs such morality? I have deliberately placed these questions in the front view of the challenges that are before us so we can have a measuring rod system to judge and appraise where we are now and where we want to be tomorrow.

It is clear that the footing of the eventual implosion and collapse of any society starts with the condition, and maybe, the celebration of its denial mechanisms. The inability to humbly identify and courageously challenge headlong, the moral deficiency of a society is first a problem of a weak and uninformed leadership character.

One of the main assignments of leadership right from the core family unit to the place of a provincial, national, and international space, is to shape and inform citizens in a particular manner that allows a sense of character discipline through the promotion of sheered moral values. Understanding the complexity of the formation of society, in terms of exposure, educational brackets, race, religious preference, and economic status, and other sociocultural realities enhances a great deal the precise formation of the right, national identity that helps in bridging the divided gaps.

Seventy percent of the population of South African falls under the bracket of millennial, meaning that the culture and direction of its values should be one that is speaking into the formation and establishment of a sound moral character discipline required in the building of the necessary productive template for personal and societal development.

How can we begin to address the concept of transformation when we have directly neglected the core process of forming the base of a solid foundational principle in human development? The misplaced priority in the process of democratic value has continued to play out in the kind of people the society produces today. The lack of a clear, balanced understanding of the type of nation we want to see lead us to adopt a kind of a finished product of societies that do not fully reflect nor represent a mold value of a stable society.

If our ideology and definition of building a strong nation is merely fixated on growing the economy without first developing a well-informed, disciplined, highly educated society with a strong moral based community, am afraid, all that we have invested time, money, and energy to build will soon be destroyed under the pressure of indiscipline.  To assume we can build a progressive, prosperous society without investing in a solid, and a well-balanced, behavioral, moral character values of millennia are a lie.

What is this blessers ideology in SA?

I have listened to this idea of a group of rich and highly influential individuals known as the blessers, who assume the responsibility of providing a financial and material blessing to young ladies, even if they are married in exchange for sexual pleasure. The most unfortunate thing about this is, many of these men are members of churches who play key leadership roles, while others are in the private and political space, who act on behalf of the government in society.

The question, however, is, what is driving South Africa, particularly, the millennial generation, as a society that is becoming extremely sexualized? What do I mean by being sexualized? Let me start by answering this question by sharing what came out of google search when I asked for what it means in definition as a sexualized society? This is the answer “there are societies where women apparently do not masturbate, do not feel any particular pleasure by sexual activity, and where female orgasm is an unknown phenomenon that does not even have a name.  Female sexual desire is a quality that can be fostered or suppressed during upbringing”.

You will certainly agree with me that this is a very shallow expiation with an undertone agenda of what the media wants to promote regarding the ideology of sex and sexuality, and this is certainly of the challenge’s society is faced with today, the disinformation and neutralization of truth.  If we don’t seek to prove to learn and truly find out what we are seeking for, we shall be given a wrong value and ideology of the real nature of things. It is a natural, non-truth that humans by default, experiment and utilize sex for different purposes beyond the act of seeking pleasure.

Sex can be used as a weapon to win dominance, influence, position, authority and power. It can be used to blackmail, intimidate, manipulate, gain both material and financial status.  Because of the pleasure and power behind sex, it has become a tool many are now using to elevate themselves to whatever status, they desire as long as they can maintain the mechanism of attraction from the side of the female and provision from the side of the male.

Meaning that almost everything within the daily, operative social system of human’s is one that gravitates towards the promotion and idolization of sex as a communicative, advertising tool. Normalizing the idea and culture of using sex even as children and teens as a normal, acceptable, open practice is an agenda that has been pushed forth for decades that has finally become a reality.

Sex is a gift from God to consummate a relationship that is tied in the love and covenant of marriage. Sex outside marriage is not just biblically wrong but carries the potential to destroy the joy of individuals, and the moral balance of society.

The idea of sex as an inter-cause between two intimate individuals has become a long gone, obsolete idea within the cultural system of the 21st-century society. Sex and sexy terminology have become so interfaced and inter-used in sales promotion, and even in just normal conversations. It’s become so bad that I have often heard and read many of our Christian fellow sister social media post, use the term ’sexy’ to refer to themselves or their children while they are trying to express some form of beauty complement.

There has been certainly a systematic groundwork of desensitization, in terms of the kind of societal values certain groups, or entities would like to see in South Africa, and I believe such a mission must have begun right from the Apartheid days, or even before.

Sexualizing a society is a powerful means of not just stealing or destroying just the identity AND FUTURE of a society, it’s also a powerful method of owning and enslaving the people.  When you give a careful thought to what I’ve just said, it will undoubtedly prove why the issue of the 21ST-century slavery trade is the second largest trade in the world; abuse of women, girl-child, and the sodomizing of teenage boys is on the increase even within the walls of the Church.

The point we must not lose focus of, which I think is highly important in dealing with these multi-layered, complex issues before is that, South Africa as a nation is a nation that is suffering from:

  1. SELF-ABUSE,
  2. POWER ABUSE,
  3. CULTURE ABUSE,
  4. RELIGIOUS ABUSE, AND LASTLY,
  5. SUBSTANCE ABUSE.

These abuses speak directly to what I have earlier alluded to, when you desensitized a nation in terms of what defines its identity and core value of such society, you have indirectly opened such a society to accept abuse as her normal ways of life.

What is the driving force behind teen pregnancy?

What in the world will drives teens, undergraduates, and most young professional, both ladies and men alike, into such a perverted, concept of financial lifestyle known as blessers?  Well, it is clear that it is both ignorance and poverty, which is not just the lack of money, but the total lack of the right, moral, value within homes and communities. When the lack of decency increases within society, it opens the door for other kinds of abnormality to thrive.

Yes, the economy plays a key role in how individuals and the society respond to sociocultural challenges, but we cannot lay the blame solely on the lack of finance or opportunity on issues that bring disgrace and shame to our names, families, community, and national identity.

The impact of the kind of lifestyle we choose to accept and practice as a social norm has a nation carries a greater impact in our socioeconomic condition than we can imagine. There’s no doubt that we are seated with a major social crisis time bomb in South Africa than we admit, and it will take an open acknowledgment of this, in humility to begin to find the right solution so we can salvage the destiny of our children and the millennial.

There are several complex, multi-layered issues that have grossly contributed to this major challenge, currently threatening the future of teens and millennia that must be addressed precisely and strategically. But the greatest contributor comes from the abdication of parental visibility and leadership responsibility within the family and the broader community. What do I mean by this? When fathers and mothers directly or indirectly neglect their sole objective and responsibility to others, particularly, to the government, social workers, traditional rulers, and the church community.

There are several abnormally I have personally noticed, having lived in this nation for almost two decades now, and I have watched how children have been left and neglected to assume the role of parenthood for their siblings, of course, due to several reasons. The first major reason is directly connected to the issue of poverty. Poverty is a major contributor to the sociocultural challenges the nation is faced with. Yet, poverty must be understood, way beyond the narrow-minded definition of the mere lack of money, or the opportunities one need in life.

Poverty is a state of mind, affected by other factors, which includes the lack of a sound, relevant, all-inclusive, educational, productive system. You don’t necessarily need to have a degree as highly as important as it is to have a good, qualitative educational culture. While I advocate education for all, I, however, believe that education must be tailored made for various reasons that should correctly address the unique challenges and limitation of individuals and their society. To address poverty, you have to correctly and efficiently identify people’s history and social exposures mechanism.

Poverty is how we think, and have been made to see others, particularly, those we think are far better us, or the people we assume we are better than them. It is amazing what the indoctrination of poverty can produce within the mind frame of fallen human thought pattern. Poverty doesn’t just produce a false sense of high self-esteem, it also creates a deep sense of destructive, low self-esteem that allows for all sorts of dysfunctional, rebellious, behavioral patterns to existence, particularly amongst children and teens.

Poverty, the lack of an honorable sense of dignity, identity is the central core of prostitution if you begin to think about it. While people may say it’s a job that pays, and that may be a fact, but what kind of a job do you want to get yourself involved in, that will make you offer the most sacred part of your Body to be violated for a few minutes just for money? This is a practice that destroys not just your body, but also your identity and dignity. It’s a recognized fact that prostitution is now a general practice even amongst teens in primary and secondary schools here in SA.

This is one of the reasons where all kinds of dysfunctional, delinquent characters are being displayed in the schools. Schoolers are not merely sleeping with other pupils, they are now having sex with their instructors. Some of the girls are disrespecting their female teachers to the point of physically hurting them. Teen girls have become more aggressive in the schools. Drugs and alcohol are being used in schools, while the teachers can do very little to challenge or try to stop them.

The role of Apartheid

Some of these teens now willfully record and post these obscene acts on the internet for others to watch as if they are advertising themselves, and the unfortunate things is, the church and government seem not to have the right, effective solution in addressing the challenge.  As I struggle to understand some of these factors that lead to this massive manifestation of such character within the young democratic culture of South Africa, I cannot but to link some of these issues to the ungodly, legacy of apartheid, racist, segregation policy.

Now, I am not saying the regime promoted the act of indecency. In fact, I think, at least, on face value that they stood against it. But the very agenda they promoted surely did clear the pathway for the kind of dysfunctional family and societal lifestyle we are witnessing today.

Apartheid was more than a geographical and economic segregation but was a psychological weapon used in trying to dehumanize others that don’t fit into their definition of whiteness exclusiveness. Apartheid used race, science, education, medicine, the economy, church and religion, and of course, other forms of segregation and sexuality in trying to destroy the majority’s identity so they may control the people at will.

This diabolic, destructive agenda was not hidden from the today, ruling party, but unfortunately, when they came to power, they refused to tackle the very heart of this problem. They, rather, went into building ineffective schools and in-functional RDP housing units that could not adequately address and correct the complex, sociocultural and economic divide of society.

The lack of the correct, determined political will to address the wrong of the past through massive, aggressive campaign to sensitize society, particularly, those who have suffered massive segregation, marginalization.  Those who have been excluded from the mainstream economy has to be systematically addressed not just by giving them what is known as RDP houses that don’t address the issue of community exclusions, and the present reintegration.

Rebuilding the social structure of South Africa starts by engaging the false, social views, most people living within the poverty bracket have been systematically forced into belief and accept.  You cannot change people by merely seeking to change their clothes. No. You must be ready to reach deep into their frame of thought, you need to address their understanding to live, self, and the environment.  We need to carefully and honestly identify the challenges, understand them thoroughly, and humble ourselves to seek for the right, lasting solution in addressing them.

HOW SOME CHRISTIANS STILL VIEW,
CONNECT, AND INTERACT ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Three categories of Christians characters on social media

A must read if you’re interested in the mandate of the kingdom beyond today’s religious walls.

by Isaiah-Phillips Akintola

I am sure by now we all must have come to this conclusion, that the social media has become a powerful, effective platform of the convergence of thoughts, ideologies, experiences, grace and wisdom that can immensely enhance our corporate identity and mandate as members of the body of Christ

A platform for accelerated integration

Since the beginning of the restoration of God’s divine, redemptive program on the day of Pentecost over 2000 years ago, the social media has stood out to be the most powerful, single apostolic tool, given to the church to facilitate and accelerate the mandate of reformation and reintegration of the body of Christ, for the single fact that it allows us to source and resource each other’s grace, wisdom, gifts, and spiritual experiences beyond the religious border and walls of men. The social media has by far brought equalization of information, knowledge and resource for personal and corporate human development, and the list goes on.

After the scattering and confusion of human language and its false system of unity structure. epitomized through the Tower of Babel, the ideological culture behind the internet and social media technology has turned out to become an important part of human convergence and its socioeconomic lifestyle, that has become almost non-avoidable part of life. Our lives, families, work, business and even spirituality are all interconnected to today’s 21st century social media culture.

Unfortunately, many are still skeptical about its use, in terms of what they define as the ultimate end result of the eschatological prophetic expectation and manifestation of the internet and the social media. The reality is, almost everything we own and use from a material point, are vulnerable to human government, and in fact, carries a fingerprint of an international, global political influence that we cannot completely avoid.

Right from the way we use our phones, to our banking system, all the way to how our social identity is captured in schools, malls, and recreation facilities, are all tools for the state to track and know our preference better. Thus, to argue non-usage of the social media will make us safer or be protected from the powers that be is a total lie.

But the point is, if we can just lift our eyes beyond the narrow prophetic expectation that has sought to limit the intention of the mandate of the Father’s redemptive program, we will begin to appreciate that the social media is merely a tool given just as past seasons and generations were also given tools that facilitate the development and advancement of the agenda of the kingdom.

How we understand and utilize this tool is paramount to the heart of the Father and those given the spiritual responsibility to guard and manage this tool before the next unveiling season of God for creation emerges.

I’ll like to speak through this note, some points I have noticed, and I feel I should carefully highlight them as we press further into our mandate for the 21st century, even as the concept of social media become more and more part of our spiritual interaction.

Reexamining the philosophy of our connection

Just as there are those we will naturally connect to in conversations, there those who may not be that fortunate in our preference of what we term as like. We struggle to connect with some individuals not necessarily because what they are saying is incorrect or irrelevant, it’s just something about the stronghold of the prideful, fallen, adamic nature in our personalities that makes us think or feel we connect better with some people, and disconnect with others.

Please hear me well, I am not referring here to those individuals who go out of their way to attack our character and grace without personally knowing who we are, such individuals, regardless of who they are, or what they represent must be confronted, and be politely asked to leave our space for the sake of our own peace.

I am referring here to people who see things differently, after all, we all see things differently, and the reality is, only in the matured character, nature and culture of the kingdom life, can we all see things through the ascended, prophetic view lens of Christ who fills all things.

A presumptive, repulsive, character, attitude is increasingly playing out on social media platforms today amongst Christians, to the degree that it’s beginning to threaten the apostolic integration of the emerging ecclesia, and I am greatly concerned about this negative trend even as we enter the new spiritual season.

The fact that we usually don’t know or have the historic background of individuals we connect to on social media, even if we may have been informed about them, should better inform us to be more careful and cautious on how we think, see, and respond to what we read on people’s social timeline.

We don’t have to always agree with everything we see, or read on others page and timeline, yet, it is critically important how we respond in our disagreement with what we read. Disrespecting and being rude to people because we don’t agree with their view, culture, doctrine, and even theology is the lowest form of immaturity, particularly, if we claim to be a follower of Christ, and worse still, to be a leader who is representing the body of Christ.

It is highly critical we remind ourselves often that we are engaging with people and not robots on social media; yes, people we may never have met nor have naturally contacted are those we seek to befriend and interact with on social media.

Therefore, your approach should be that of a person with a keen, wisdom and desire to want to learn and understand where the ideological background that informs such individuals and their [writings] post comes from, so your comments and inputs can be more constructive, precise, and complementary, if need be, than to just merely seek to dismiss what you read due to your lack of a broadened knowledge, insight, and understanding.

The social media is all about interaction; the way we interact therefore, should be highly defined by wisdom, sobriety, and matured understanding. One of the laws of effective engagement with social media, indeed also the law of human relations, is to never assume or presume about any person or subject.

In other words, you must be highly informed, willing to listen, with a well-balanced emotional intelligence to engage in conversation, regardless of how complex the nature of the subject matter of discussion may seem. What we see, write, or say in response to what we read, carries real time, spiritual and emotional energy that may better enhance our lives and assignment, or keep us critical, negative and disconnected and ultimately isolate us in our potential relationships.

I have in the past written extensively about the importance and impact of social media in relating to the concept of the kingdom of God, and I think I should repost some of these important articles to refresh our minds. It’s amazing how our unseen, individual character attitudes, beliefs, preferences, ideologies, insecurities, exposures, ignorance and maturity are all displayed on social media today without us knowing it. The social media platform, for many is a place the can post and say whatever they feel like saying without a sense of sensitivity to divine direction.

To them, it’s a place where they confront others, especially, those they avoid, or are afraid to debate and engage in real time conversation. The social media is not and should never be a place to score point or try to judge others. It’s really unfortunate that many who use the social media space, still do not fully understand the power of the platform in the transformation of others because they haven’t realized the power of human character and the impact of words.

Your words, or post is the very extension of your life and spirituality. Your word goes before you, and words carry every last essence of your person and personality. Your words cannot betray you, but you can absolutely betray your own words by your act of duality. I have been on Facebook since 2007, and by the grace of God, I’ve been able to maintain my presence by representing the gospel of the kingdom.

Today, I have more people following me and what we represent on Twitter and WordPress than Facebook, yet, I have chosen to maintain my presence on Facebook because I believe this is the desire of the Lord until he speaks otherwise. We move only by the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit and not by how we feel.

I have said this before, please, permit me to say it again, the social media is a powerful platform not just to connect with each other, but to effectively advance the mandate of the kingdom, and this is a game changer for the advancement of ministry.

Yet, it is critical we get this clear, the kingdom of God just like that of the powers of darkness gets to be advanced through human vessels. If representatives of the kingdom of God don’t have the pure, refined knowledge and maturity of how to connect and interact with others who may not necessarily belong to their constituents, within the broader scope of the ecclesia’s community, how can we then advance the kingdom of God in an integrated manner if we have a wrong attitude of response on social media?

Attitudes and response

Many of us who claim to be representing the kingdom completely lack the values and culture of the kingdom, and this is even now played out on social media that requires we urgently address it. I see these types of responses on social media which I think we should give a thought, so that we are not driven by a wrong spirit when responding to people’s post or comments.

There are posts and comments we are naturally drawn to, and often times, we agree with what has been said. Yet, there are other posts and comments we see, and we immediately scroll through to the next page, because what is being said is regarded by us as irrelevant. Such posts, takes nothing, nor had to us in terms of energy or value.

There are other posts, however, that when we see their titles or captions, we get agitated, defensive, critical, and in fact, we immediately react to such post and writings without processing our thoughts. We allow our imbalance, sometimes, immature emotions drive our action, in a very negative, reactional mode.

This third kind of attitude is poorly birth out of several reasons that are often presumptive and misconstrued. I have tried to highlight some of the reasons for this kind of response which are;

A. You assume the you know better

B. You feel the point or matter raised is misrepresenting

C. You assume the post is a directly or indirect challenge to your personality, or to the constituent you represent, and so you, react.

D. You don’t like the tone in which the post comes across to you.

E. You assume the person addressing the subject matter is not a qualified authority on the subject.

F. You feel you are an authority who have some good knowledge about the content or subject matter in the post, but what you read seem to be challenging your benched marked knowledge by a greater, elevated understanding, and that of course, makes you feel out of control, and instead of you seeking in humility to learn, you rather choose to react to the post and the writer in a very negative manner

G. You just don’t like the person even though you’ve never met the individual before. Something in you just don’t like the person or his or her personality. Basically, you’re being prejudiced, and this is an anti-Christ spirit by definition.

Meeting people on social media, and engaging with them in a polite, constructive manner demands we first remove from our thought and intention, every form of prejudice and stereotype attitude, formed within the mindset of our subconscious, particularly as followers of Christ and members of the household of faith.

As men and women whose values of existence differ from that of the world system, our culture and outlook to life should never be that which seeks to break down others and the mandate of the kingdom. The only thing we are called to destroy, is the works of darkness and not our brothers and sisters. We must learn to consciously follower the nature character of Christ in all we say and do.

Let’s stop running with a message that is yet to be truly formed in us, and if we do, that will be known as hypocrisy. A blind, judgmental attitude without clearly understanding of the content and context of what you’re reading, or that is being communicated through other means, is a clear reflection of gross childishness.

It’s time to be the light of the world, even on social media. We must stand for truth and defend the cause of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and his kingdom, with faith, sobriety, fairness and boldness without apology. We must never give in to religious and unholy compromise. Yet, we must never show rudeness to others, particularly, those who are non-followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let your light so shine that men may see and give glory to your heavenly Father who knows and sees all things.

The pathway of maturity

Allowing ourselves the opportunity to develop and know more about others culture, identity and even values, is a beautiful gesture that will further build and enhance our strategy of communication and integration.

There’s a world out there that is far bigger than what we assume we know and understand. A matured person always seeks first to be quite to learn and add to his or her knowledge by listening to others spiritual ideology and experience.

Sometimes, being quiet does not mean you’re ignorant, it simply means that you are seeking as a matured person, to learn more from others experience, particularly, if they are speaking on a subject that interest you, or maybe they are speaking from a perspective that seem a bit strange and different from the default environmental view lens perception you are accustomed to, which often happen in the Body of Christ due to various reason.

If you’ve not truly learnt the wisdom within the principle of being quiet with a strong, keen, observational attitude that pays close attention to details, particularly about people, places, and events, there’s the likelihood that you will always jump into false, negative conclusions.

Let’s be part of those building the kingdom of God through the lives of others.

A CORPORATE PRAYER FOR ALL SOJOURNERS AS WE ONCE AGAIN APPRAOCH THE SEASON OF RENEWAL

LIFE-IN-THE-JOURNEY2.png

PRAYERS BY ISAIAH-PHILLIPS AKINTOLA

Father, we give you thanks for your eternal love that you have eternally given to us as a seal of your eternal covenant with us your people. We, as your tribe in the earth, today has come again to renew the covenant of eternal memorial in this place; in this place you have ordained for your name to be hallowed in righteousness, peace, and joy in your Holy Spirit. This place, in your son that you have given to every summoned traveler to find rest and peace, even in you has become the place of the return and rest from the weariness of the journey. Yes, we have come individually and corporately as members of your household to again find your voice and strength as we get renewed and reformed in the reality of your eternal desire.

This day is our day of rest since we have stepped out of the sixth day of man. We have entered the boundary line of the seventh day order in you, and our lines have fallen in pleasant places and we have a godly heritage. We have come to find rest in you and with you in the journey of entering your realm of eternal knowledge and fullness. Indeed, you came to give us life and the life in fullness, our desire is to experience and share the full reality of your life, so we may glow in the fullness of your light without any form of shadow.

Father of light, we rest in your covenant of truth as we behold and embrace the sight of the promised Land before us. We are the seal and symbol of your covenant of salt in the earth. We season every sphere and regions of the earth with the illuminating light of your eternal prophetic truth; we are the covenant of sault in our families and communities. We do recognize our place and responsibility as the salt of the earth and the light of the world, and that is the reason why we have returned to this place to be renewed and refreshed in the revelation of your ever-increasing light, so we may not remain weak and dimmed like Eli.

We leave behind the shadows of insecurity, doubt, fear, disappointments and discouragement. We take up our cross and follow your footsteps according to your unique plans for us. We break the strongholds of past hurts and pain that has almost blind and crippled us from journeying unto that eternal height in you. We embrace your identity for us; we bind our spirit, soul, and body to your staying healing power and authority, even as we loosen the chains of darkness over our necks, arms, and feet in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

We cast down thoughts, imagination, and every false declaration that have exalted itself above your prophetic intention and destiny for us. We once again declare that the bondage of Egypt, still lingering within our minds and thoughts, faculties is shattered as we see your light on the truth of your name.

We proclaim upon us that we are not the children of the bondwoman, we are born of Sarah, our mother who is from above. Yes father, all that comes from above is above all earthly influence and dominance. We are from above, because we are born of you, and so we declare in the name of your Son, that the chains of Egypt, Babylon, and the new Age spirt is shattered in our minds and thought patterns. We declare the total liberation of our soul’s faculties, even as we renew and retain the knowledge of our eternal identity in Christ.

We renew the vow of your grace and eternal truth has we celebrate the memorial of Passover and Pentecost in the knowledge of the feast of the revelation of the tabernacle alive within our spirit and corporate communities. We today seek to enter a renewed sense of rest even as we individually and corporately battle the giants and Goliaths of our households and communities.

We know that you are for us and not against us, we therefore allow you to show us the pathway of eternal victory in your name. We let go of the old religious patterns and strategies of operation we have learnt. We have come to a perfected day in your kingdom culture, where all things are seen and done from an ascended reality of truth. We receive the present, current blueprints and direction in our victory in warfare.

We remind ourselves that your plans and purposes for us are plans of good and not evil, so the floodgates of evil may rise against us, but will surely not prevail against us. We are confident that your promised presence will continue to fight for us as we hold our peace in you. We are confident of your promise to always grant us the victory.

Yes, father of light, we have victory in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, our strength and shield. We shall not be moved for Christ rod and staff will comfort us as he prepares a table of heavenly meal for us in the presence of our enemies. We eat this day for strength and courage, and not for pleasure even as we journey further into new frontiers of light and darkness.

Father, we are your children, called by your name. Grant to us the heart and desire to continue to remember that each of us represent a place and a purpose in your eternal prophetic objectives for each other. Help us to love you deeper, help us to love ourselves truly, but most of all, enable us to love your Body and the world you sent us to without fear of rejection. Grant us new sight to see your light and truth in the lives of our members; yes, your body is our member, and we all belong to that member. Help us to know each of our roles, and function in that role as we assist our brothers and sisters’ function in their assigned places.

Father of light, we have come to the place of circumcision, the place of memorial, the place where the two edge-sword of your word cuts and divine the motives and intent of the heart. We ask you today, even as we enter this new junction in our journey to remove from within us everything that does not glorify your name in the earth.

Our desire is to truly and effectively represent your life and nature. Our desire is that men may see you in all we say and do. Remove lies from our lips. Give us a single eye; grant us the lips of the ready writer. Help us to speak words of hope, faith, and courage to the tired and discourage on the journey. Father in the name of your son, we acknowledge our lack of participation in the active knowledge and relationship with the Holy Spirit you sent to lead and guide us into all truth.

Precious Spirit of truth, we repent and turn from this ignorant position we have falsely accepted. We openly acknowledge that we can do nothing without your leading and assistance, so, in this renewed season, we declare that we will learn to trust and wait for your voice to lead us even into all truth. We know that there are deeper realms and realities you eagerly desire to show us in the matters of the kingdom. How foolish and shortsighted we are to assume that what we intellectually and religiously know about your ways and the kingdom of God will give us the right of passage into the realities of the dominion kingdom lifestyle.

We repent and turn to you; lead us, guide us, show us the ancient pathway. Bring us into the ascended dimensions of your prophetic intention for this season. We offer our entire lives, family, and intentions  to you. May your kingdom come; may your will be done in us. Make us instruments of your peace where there’s war and hatred even within your household. Help us to hear the cry of the nation’s seeking saviors and deliverance from the bondage of the fall. We are your sons, called by your name. In this place of covenant renewal, we receive re-newness of life. May our sight be recalibrated to see what you see.

May our vision be strengthened again. May we see with clarity the country afar, grant us strength like father Abraham to walk the length and breadth of the land you’ve given to us to possess in this place of rest. Give us the strength of the patriarch Enoch, to journey with you until we are no more, show us the building technology of Noah to construct your eternal intent for our family, city, and generation. Give us the heart of integrity like David to lead a people to the place of your rest. Father of light, our help comes from you, we look up to you to provide and direct our pathway as you make us instrument and channels of blessing to the needy, help us to tenderly but swiftly respond without delay to the cry of the nations.

We are yours, all that we have, all that we have, and hope to become belongs to you, so we totally surrender our lives to you again. As we journey into the next sphere in this transition, grant us the memory to always remember your promise word that says, you will never leave us nor forsake us. Our faith is anchored on your eternal love, promise, and hope. Thank you, father of light, for in your light we see light to journey on.

BATTLING DISCONNECTION IN THE WORLD OF CONNECTIVITY.

ss

I don’t think the world as ever been so lonely and disconnected than it is today. We live in an area where virtually everything and almost everyone is technologically linked to each other. Computer programing and algorithm has redesigned the way man communicates with its environment and workplace to FastTrack efficiency and productivity.

Yet, the bitter reality is that man, more than ever before has remained disconnected with himself, and those that matters to him the most. Unfortunately, this disconnection is not limited to just the society; this disconnection is also deeply rooted with the church and amongst spiritual leaders. It seems there’s a fear amongst church leaders to openly and sincerely connect with each other. We rather connect on pulpit preaching bases than on a heart to heart relationship.

The body of Christ is today suffering in loneliness and utter disconnection with each other due to certain truths and values we have refused to learn and address as the appropriate footing in establishing a solid, kingdom community life. This level of superficiality is not only displayed amongst the general society, but also across the body of Christ. As we look into the current condition of our nations, particularly here in South Africa, we have seen a sharp division not just on a racial level but even among political party lines.

The ANC, DA, EFF are all suffering clear division amongst themselves, so then I wonder, how can we have any meaningful development when the seemingly political gatekeepers of the nation are faced with political killings and factionalism? I have always seen myself as a bridge builder; a portal to connect members of the body of Christ together, and this is one of the reasons why I have refused to start another local church community even unto this point, but from the current look of things I am seriously reconsidering my stand on this matter.

My desire is to be a true advocate of unity and corporation in the advancement of the kingdom of God. Yet, I have been misunderstood, accused, and even abused by these insecure church leaders. I was once confronted by some white Christian groups with a colored pastor in the community that whatever training plans I was thinking of carrying out for the community is not welcomed.  But I believe the Lord is now empowering me with a fresh grace and prophetic insight in dealing with this evil spirit of division that is hindering the advancement of the work of the kingdom of God in this nation and across the globe.

The father’s desire is that his house must be built in this hour through the power of the corporation of the fivefold ascended ministry gifts and grace. A house of truth unity and corporate grace that can truly reflect his glory among the nations. We need to raise the standard of God’s prophetic counsel on this new day; a mandate of hope that will unite men’s heart including that of Children, families, and the nations of the world. Stereotypes and racist elements cannot and should not be tolerated across our community as kingdom regents in this season. We must find the punchline to unite the various grace and gifts given to build and equip the saints without delay.

Last Sunday, just before lunch was ready, I was sharing with bishop Abraham’s brother, about an incident that happened in Johannesburg while I was still living there. There was this young lady who just after the Wednesday service went home to hang herself to death. No one really knew what led her to making such a brutal decision to commit suicide. But the fact remained, that she had suffered and battled loneliness and disconnection for a while.  What baffled me was the fact that she took her own life just after returning from church service.

The point is, the fact that we attend church, or are faithfully committed in our various weekly church meetings does not shield us from the inner struggle of disconnection, fear, rejection, and loneliness. It will certainly be an understatement to say that disconnection has become a growing trend amongst Millennials particularly here in South Africa and in the western world.

Married people, church folks, and the society in general are badly suffering disconnection with themselves. Many of us are more connected to our little gargets than real people. It seems we today prefer to live in the cyber space world rather than the real life where we are required to engage with real people dealing with real, complex issues.

I guess the reason for this is because we think it’s easier to confidently handle such gargets like phones, or do I say control such kind of relationship with things rather than people.  It’s so easy to connect with what we can control and manipulate than people who will challenge our opinions, values and standard of thinking. No wonder some parts of Asia and Europe today are already investing hugely in what are known to be adult IE computer dolls, designed for sex stimulation. The world is losing the power of its essence as humans. We are seeking for some kind of objects we can manipulate like a remote control, but this is certainly showing how seek we are becoming as humans living in the earth today.

Every one of us at some point will have to face this serious issue of disconnection whether we like it or not. At some point of my life, I have had to face my demons of disconnection, and have come to understand the various levels of disconnection challenges, and why we find ourselves at this point of insecurity. We also must understand that at some point we may not be really facing disconnection as a personal issue, but rather know that certain folks due to their insecurity and fear have rather chosen to disconnect themselves from us.

This kind of disconnection is not of our own making, but a reflection of how people feel or think towards us. This is not what I am focusing on. This kind of disconnection I am dealing here with expressly relates to the dysfunctionality of our individual hearts towards others. The things that make us withdraw from people, particularly those whom heaven has ordained for us in assisting us fulfill our called, ordained prophetic assignment.

Disconnection is a deep reflection of the spirit of the Age. It is a manifestation of the spirit of division, we see reflected through the built golden image of Nebuchadnezzar, according to the book of Daniel chapter 2:31.

The fear of rejection and unworthiness must be banished from amongst us. We need to create a solid platform for young men and women to connect in an atmosphere of security, liberty and discipline. We must be a voice of change in our society through a lifestyle that encourages corporation and togetherness. One thing the church has is the power of community, and that community must be restored back to its place of glory and power even as we enter this new day of kingdom advancement. This is the time to properly connect with each other’s grace, faith, and even pain so we can effectively know and understand where we are in our journey of transition and spiritual development in order to represent the prophetic mandate of the father for our generation.

DIVINE INTENTION IN NATION BUILDING

Apostolic pattern in engaging the marketplace

5.png

One of the subtlest deceptions Satan is peddling amongst modern {secular} society is that ‘the knowledge and wisdom of God is not relevant or progressive enough, in playing a strategic role in the formation of policies that defines the transformation of good governance, most especially in areas of socioeconomic agendas.

This fallacy is already disproved when one carefully examines the history of human society’s development. The founding fathers of most countries, including Europe and the United State of America, all draw the inspiration of their national identity and constitution formation from the Holy Bible. Science and nature itself proves that nothing of its own self can exist without drawing its source from something else. Everything in life is directly or indirectly linked to a source, or to resource another. This is the concept of a perfect ecosystem.

The source of man is God, and he is totally designed to depend on the wisdom and direction of God’s Spirit, particularly in times of political and socioeconomic uncertainty. Therefore, if the 21st century community of nations, including South Africa is going to survive the challenges of the unfolding future, the wisdom of God must be embraced at all levels of governance. God, the creator of life, gave man an unlimited ability to imagine, and create, and the reason for is for man’s personal and corporate development, and not to foolishly challenge the wisdom and authority of his creator.

God breathe into man his own very {life} Spirit, giving him unparalleled access into his creative power nature. None of the created beings of God, including {Satan} Lucifer, has such access and opportunity. This ability was designed to help him explore, discover and {create} invent things for the improvement of his society. This was a clear fact in the Garden of Eden.

Adam was given the key to the Garden of Eden. He was giving the responsibility to nature and nurture the animals in the garden. It is important that we remember that all discoveries or inventions came from an existing reality somewhere deep within the Spirit of God. All things exist in God and function perfectly through his Spirit. Without him, nothing exists both in the visible or invisible realm.

There are depths of God within the creative nature of the spirit and the soul of man that are yet to be uncovered. The rebellious and prideful nature of the fallen man has continued to hinder and pervert his creativeness, such that, many among the humanist liberal movements today, view following the ways and wisdom of Christ as a hindrance to social and economic progression.

This continuous, promoted lies amongst the mainstream churches, particularly in Europe, has led many members of the Body of Christ to stop following the pathway of the Spirit of truth, and this has opened the church to all kinds of strange doctrine and liberal acceptance.

The spirit and the soul of man are designed by God, the creator to walk in harmony with his truth in order for it to reach the zenith of his creative and productive destiny. Therefore, when we go to school to learn, education should not be offered in a way that portrays God as a liar or even non-existed.

The reality is, facts are based on evidential truth presented; the truth can only be accessed when one genuinely encounters him, who is the source of all truth-Jesus Christ. Today’s society might not have had the opportunity to hear this true gospel of Christianity, however, the time has come for architects of tomorrows society to start inculcating this knowledge in the mentality of man.

This is what needs to be reformed as we continue as the remnant members of the Church of the Lord continue to represent Christ kingdom in the earth. Therefore, separating state and religion was designed by humanistic philosophy in trying to disconnect the influence of the laws of God from redeeming and transforming society in a way where equalization of state power and resource becomes the building blocks of all members of the society.

While I believe without doubt that the founding fathers of the modern philosophy of democracy had the intention of a balance of power, however, a lot still needs to be clear in the process of reforming and broadening the values of democracy. Righteousness in its true definition should be the solid foundation of any nation’s leadership that honestly seeks the wellbeing of its citizens, and we must pursue such position of rightness within all sphere of our national life.

A TRIBUTE TO A POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ICON, WINNIE MADIKIZELA MANDELA

winnie-mandela-3.png

A TRIBUTE TO A POLITICAL LEADERSHIP ICON,

WINNIE MADIKIZELA MANDELA

BY ISAIAH-PHILLIPS AKINTOLA

In my growing up to the cognizance of some of the key leadership vanguards, shaping the political and socioeconomic narrative of the state of South Africa, Winnie Mandela style of leadership has been one of those out of the many entities that never stop to catch my attention. To write about women in Frontline, global political leadership, her life will certainly qualify as one. For the single fact that her entire life as a youth, wife, and mother was dedicated to the struggle of her nation’s freedom from the devilish, apartheid, minority leadership junta.

when destiny calls

Here is a woman, like any other young ambitious lady, whose dream and heart’s desire is to be married to a visionary man, who will dedicate his life and career to building a successful, stable, growing family, with the children being able to look up to their parents for love, care, security, provision, and other forms of spiritual, psychological, and emotional sustenance. Yet, the opposite was the case for this great leadership icon, who lived and dedicated almost her entire life to fighting for something she could never or would have never imagined.

The life of Winnie Madikizela is a life of selfless-sacrifice that needs to be understood in context; appreciated, and truly celebrated not just by the nation of South Africa, but in the hearts of every young woman, growing up in this 21st century society, particularly, in the Southern African regions, enjoying at least today, the fruit of a protracted battle of political freedom.

the making of leaders of nations

A nation is made of various unique characters of men and women at the hem of its leadership affairs. Some are strategically born and groomed to take up leadership position at various levels of socioeconomic space. While in some other cases, many are drawn into leadership space by the virtue of their proximity to people of great influence in society.

Yet, there is another group of those in leadership, who have been trained, prepare and groomed within the hard environment of the struggle of marginalization, racism, poverty and inequality they see and feel amongst their own countrymen and woman. This third kind of leaders are usually more authentic and practical in their Leadership calling assignment because the agonizing cry of the need of the people is what fashioned their spirit, soul, and body to embrace the call to a voice and the servant of representation on behalf of the people.

There are many who have come into positions of leadership by dispossession through the barrel of a gun. And they’re those who actually think that authentic leadership is truly acquired just by the voter’s box, at least, we now know this is also not completely true, since those in power are usually known to buy the votes of the already impoverished and marginalized majority.

the call of true leadership

Leadership is a call to respond to the desperate needs of the voiceless and the powerless in society, regardless of their political or religious affiliations. Leadership is birthed by various occasions that calls for our response and solidarity to the critical needs and condition of the mass.

These individuals, who seldom understand, or rather choose not to understand the narrative of some narrow-minded bureaucracy definition of democratic process of negotiations, in their own rights, find their leadership voice and authority within the environment of marginalization and dignity of the impoverished to stand up and fight without flinching

These struggles highlight the underlined character values, and the philosophy that shapes the leadership direction of these men and women. Yet, beyond this, the character values of these icons also impact the history of their people, and determines to a large degree, the future trajectory of the entire nation and regions. Within the struggle for emancipation at all levels, the gray lines of our weakness and strength become even more visible for others to criticize while it gives others the opportunity to assist in covering until that singular mission of liberation and transformation is achieved.

Leadership, particularly, within the scope of national reform, transformation and unity, requires men and women with strong insight, wisdom, and adaptive value system of operation. A character that doesn’t see the challenge and allow itself to collapse within it, but rather see a way out, and willing to follow that pathway until the light at the end of the tunnel becomes glaring for all to see and embrace. Today, Winne Mandela exemplifies these qualities of character amongst those who have greatly shaped and influence the transformative, ongoing program of this great nation.

Was her life a perfect leadership model, certainly not. Did she give her heart to Christ before she died? Well, I don’t honestly know. I believe only those who are very close to her will be able to testify of her personal and spiritual stand with the Lord, and if she did, only the father will be able to ascertain such confession, and it will certainly be great if that is the case.

leadership is beyond what we will ever understand

One thing I do know, and is worth acknowledging, and that is, she served her nation and generation, and that is something noteworthy and appreciating by all prophetically sighted spiritual gatekeepers over this realm.

it’s beyond religion

As new leadership begins to emerge in the refining of the prophetic destiny of this nation, it is our duty as prophetic watchmen, who are positioned on the ramp, to continue to observe and highlight the inflow and outflow of the various shifts in leadership seasons. There is no doubt, a generation of leaders within the context of the struggle and revolution is passing away, and a new order of leadership within the narrative of a new nation is being born.

learning from the past in engaging the future

The great question is, how aware and prepared is the current youthful, western culture, materialistic driven South African Millennials ready in effectively engaging the next political and economic leadership landscape of the nation? These are some important questions we need to start asking even as the concept of leadership narrative changes from all spectrums. There’s a need to learn from the past concept of leadership as the old guard fades way.  But most importantly, there is serious need to precisely understand the nature of the future before us, in order to know the necessary models of changes required in making the required move in leadership. As South Africa learns and celebrate the sacrificial service of such woman like Winnie Madikizela Mandela, we need to craft a new, resilient, strategy leadership competent for the future ahead. it’s no more time to waste! We celebrate the life of Ma Minnie Mandela!
