CHAPTER 7-B OF TAKING EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE: FOUNDATION AND THE JOURNEY OF EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALING.

By Isaiah-Phillips Akintola

The way in which we internalize and interpret significant experiences during our formative years, especially during the crucial period of adolescence, has a profound impact on shaping our personalities and who we become as individuals. During this critical period, any unresolved traumatic experiences that may arise can become deeply ingrained in our thought processes, leading to the development of various personality traits such as feelings of rejection, confusion, insecurity, anxiety, fear, and even depression.

The distorted and skewed thought patterns that an individual may possess not only have the power to significantly alter their self-concept, but can also serve as the foundation for negative emotions, ultimately leading to feelings of bitterness, and often opening the door for destructive influences to enter their lives. Painful, life-distressing experiences profoundly impacts our thoughts and emotions, often altering our values, identity, self-worth, and perception.

It has been scientifically proven that repeated emotional encounters, whether in words spoken or actions taken, can deeply embed themselves in our minds, altering our thought patterns and even rewiring the function of our brains. Over time, this process can lead to a distorted understanding of character, rooted in negative thinking patterns that obscure the truth. This distortion serves as an entry point for the devil’s schemes in advancing his diabolical agenda over such an individual or group.

Unresolved abuse and trauma create a thought process heavily influenced by insecurity, distrust, and fear. Over time, these emotions solidify into a mindset that permeates and damages all aspects of life, affecting relationships, decision-making, and personal aspirations.
