THE CHRONICLES OF A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST: SUCCESSFUL LIVING IN BABYLON. PART 1

THE CHRONICLES OF A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST: SUCCESSFUL LIVING IN BABYLON. PSALM 84:5.

As we delve into Scripture, we understand that one of the primary responsibilities of those blessed by Jesus Christ’s life and teachings is to carry His cross and follow Him. Following Christ goes far beyond the concept of belonging to a church or being part of a denominational organization. It is not merely our religious commitment to a church’s course and vision, as crucial as that may be.

We must discern the difference between following a man-made agenda of Christianity and truly knowing, hearing, and following Christ. Following Christ is a personal choice that stems from an individual’s encounter and revelation of who Christ is. One could argue that the most significant and crucial decision a person can make is to follow Christ. Yet, today, we see that few heed this calling.

In the upcoming sessions, I would like us to explore what it truly means to be a follower of Christ. Let’s compare the concept and call to follow Jesus with other pursuits we may mistake for following Him but which are far from being a faithful follower of Christ.

Through these sessions, I hope to share some insights from my own journey as a follower of Christ and what it means to be His disciple. I aim to assist many who may be uncertain about their status as disciples of Christ. Today, many things and individuals have captured our vision and hearts to such an extent that we struggle to differentiate between following Christ and following men and women who claim to lead us to Him.
