THE SYMBOLISM OF THE 2024 ECLIPSE TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH AND THE REST OF THE WORLD.

A PROPHETIC WARNING TO THE COMING JUDGEMENT

by Isaiah-Phillips Akintola

Matthew 16: 1

The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 he replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘it will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ you know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. A 4 a wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away.

Signs serve as pointers to those who can understand and interpret them accurately. According to biblical principles and values, the 2024 North American eclipse has a deeper prophetic perspective and meaning. What we see with our natural eyes is always a pointer to a more impactful spiritual law that is about to manifest in accordance with 1 Corinthians chapter 15.

One of the greatest significances of the eclipse in human history was in Mark chapter 15:33 when Jesus Christ was about to give up his final breath on the Cross of Calvary. We are told that on Noonday, the entire land was covered with darkness, meaning there was an eclipse; everything came to a standstill.

Why? The assignment of human redemption was about to enter its finishing laps. The redemptive purpose of the Father has entered a significant threshold that has literally brought America and humanity in general to the place of spiritual re-set, as we saw in the Genesis chapter. We were told in the Genesis chapter that darkness was upon the face of the deep, and God spoke life into a creation that brought about light. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. John chapter 1:1.

I believe that the physical occurrence of the lunar eclipse holds a deeper meaning that can guide us toward a spiritual transformation and a new beginning. This transformation will be necessary if we want to avoid any negative consequences or judgment that may come our way. Therefore, how we prophetically perceive and interpret the sign of this particular eclipse will determine how well we prepare ourselves for what’s to come.

The lunar eclipse of 2024, which took place on April 8th, is not a mere coincidence. While I am not exploring numerology in relation to this eclipse, it is noteworthy that the previous eclipse also occurred seven years prior. The recurrence on April 8, 2024, may seem coincidental, but the number eight is often associated with prophetic symbolism, representing a reset or a new beginning. Thus, this occurrence should not be overlooked.

I believe that these numbers also speak to God’s pointer in terms of warning and a rare opportunity to turn toward the direction that God is requiring. Indeed, eight is a number of new beginnings if a nation is willing to turn and follow that which the spirit of God demands as a pattern to true nationhood.

This is quite prophetic as it relates to an opportunity that God has given to the nation of America and, by extension, all those who are partakers of the values and culture of the United States of America to return in repentance to God as this lunar affords an opportunity for a heart of repentance.

1 Corinthians 15:45, so it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.

It is essential not to view the eclipse as merely a natural phenomenon that we should celebrate and get excited about. Instead, we should recognize its deeper implications and significance. The eclipse serves as a reminder to reflect on our lives and our society and return to the path that aligns with God’s prophetic intention for us as a people.

I believe that the Luna phenomenon holds a wider insight that carries a significant implication of the voice of the Lord. The body of Christ, especially in North America, should pay closer attention and be prepared for what the Lord draws our attention to before it’s too late. Well, the systems of the world and their religious order may have their own interpretation and analysis regarding the eclipse.

However, the Church of the Lord must not allow itself to be deceived by following the enemy’s perspective and narrative. A deeper insight and understanding through a sound, prophetic, mature spirit is needed to clearly hear God’s heart and know how to respond accordingly to what has been revealed before our eyes. I have no doubt that the symbolism of the darkness covering the light is a profound prophetic pointer to where we stand as a church and what awaits the body of Christ globally. It is imperative that we become better equipped and heed the warning signs to prepare ourselves for the future.

It’s hard to deny that we are facing a looming threat that could be unlike anything we’ve seen before. For many of us, the concept of darkness may not fully capture the severity and impact of this threat, unless we truly understand how the scriptures describe the devastation that darkness can cause.

Please understand that it is not my intention to scare anyone but rather to provide a clear, sound, biblical interpretation of the symbolic meaning of the eclipse as described in the word of God so we can be prepared for what is coming both from within and outside the dimensions of the human ideology of darkness.

We must be spiritually and mentally alert and prepared for these unfolding realities of the end-time war of darkness. Unfortunately, the self-preserving gospel that is often preached and exported from the Western ideology of Christianity may not allow many to fully grasp the significance and impact of the eclipse sign on the Church.
.

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance. 15 But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

The impact of the coming judgment is a symbol of the eclipse we just witnessed, the church as we’ve never seen, and the nations on a much larger scale. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken to their core foundation. The only way we can save ourselves and protect ourselves from the impact of this impending darkness is by developing and maintaining a deep, continual personal and experiential revelation of Christ.

As a watchman, it’s my duty to warn and prepare the Saints for what’s to come so that we’re not caught off guard. This upcoming darkness will creep into our lives and souls like a thief sneaking into a house at night. Therefore, leaders need to be vigilant during this time. We should shed our old and worn-out clothes of the past and focus on aligning ourselves with the armor of light that can withstand any darkness that comes our way.

We must examine ourselves now in light of the present, unfolding prophetic utterances of truth coming from the throne. We need to see deep into the recesses of our hearts to examine our spiritual state and determine whether our lives are truly aligned with God’s will and counsel.

As we know, the eclipse is a phenomenal seasonal event that occurs upon humanity, and when it happens, it wakens us to reexamine ourselves and be prepared for the ultimate return of the King, where He will judge the living and the dead. No one will be exempted from the coming judgment. Just as no one can hide or deny the reality of this eclipse, No one can avoid it because of its overwhelming shadow influences during those few moments of manifestation upon human space; the same will happen when the brilliancy of the light of the coming of the Son of God will appear in the heavens. All eyes shall see his blinding, illuminating light of judgment. Man and his history of self-governance will suddenly end at his appearance.

I believe that the eclipse symbolizes the current and upcoming darkness. As I have noted in previous discussions on this topic, this eclipse serves as a profound warning of impending judgment to the United States of America. It is interesting to note that the last eclipse that appeared in the United States was 7 years ago, and this cannot be a coincidence. God is speaking to this region for several reasons, which are evidently clear regarding America’s role in relation to global leadership and influence.

The eclipse, however, carries a greater ramification globally than just the nation of North America. Everyone should be concerned about it as the world continues to untangle itself from the idea of what we have come to learn as globalization. Every human being, particularly believers, should understand and be prepared for the impact of the coming darkness, which I strongly believe has continued to take stronger roots deep within the human heart.

When a nation, such as America, takes on a leadership role globally, it must maintain a high level of integrity and quality in its actions. Unfortunately, the policies implemented by America’s leadership in recent decades are not exemplary and require closer scrutiny. There have been instances of inconsistency, misguided interventions, and hypocritical judgments that call for a reevaluation of their approach.

While it will be presumptive to generally proclaim America as a Christian nation, this nation has played a significant role in raising many individuals who have championed the course of righteousness, justice, peace, and equity across the globe. God has raised several individuals and groups who have selflessly given themselves to the advancement of God’s redemptive program that is applauded across the world. We have seen many watchmen and intercessors raised in America who have continued to advance the initiative of heaven’s prophetic agendas. Many of these people have fought for the oppressed across the world.

In the past, America has played the role of a righteous judge, but unfortunately, many of its leaders became greedy and self-serving, and this spirit gradually became a system of policy that is now ingrained in the very fabric of its government. It is the responsibility of the Saints within a nation, particularly those called to be the watchmen, to stand guard regarding what God is saying about it. It is the responsibility of those placed at the gate to sandal the call of standing in the gap to avert impending judgment by calling the rest of the nation and society to repent before judgment comes.

The Lord told Abraham that he would not destroy the nations if he could find fifty righteous people in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah. I have no doubt that this is the scenario the concept of the solar eclipse is saying to the nation of America and the rest of the world. Righteous Saints need to rise up in the spirit of righteousness; there’s a call to return to the purity of the Word of God and find out the correct values standard that appeases the Lord. The self-righteous games we have been playing need to stop. Society needs to return to the Lord in humility and sobriety.

In case you might be wondering how the eclipse speaks directly to nations, particularly the nation of America, we just need to look into the Bible and find references to eclipse and the nature of what brought about such an eclipse or darkness. Scripture further refers to the appearance of the eclipse as the hour of darkness. In other words, a time known as the hour of darkness will pervade human space. It is also important to note that this darkness is often stirred due to the evil, corruption, and continual lawlessness practiced by men, especially those in leadership positions.

According to Luke 23:44-46, just before Jesus Christ gave up the ghost on the cross called the eclipse that covered the entire land at 12 noon, the hour of darkness. The Bible says that there was a major eclipse. The Earth was covered in darkness.

Luke 23:44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

I believe this is a major prophetic symbolism in relating to the power and the influence of darkness as we see that almost the prophetic redemptive activities of God seem to be in jeopardy; the redemptive play of God to the natural eye seems to be in a state being overshadowed by darkness. Yet, this is God’s master plan to display his glory and power by making the enemy assume they won. It seems as if darkness is overcoming, and victory will be there. The hour of darkness is part of God’s grand design to prove that the full price of man’s redemption is paid to the darkness.

The hour of darkness is when the eclipse overshadows and overcomes what we define as lights; what we presume to be our breakthrough and victory will be tested. Nothing of the false light will be left without being judged. The Father will allow our definition of darkness to be overshadowed until we realize we have no light of our own.

In this hour of darkness, all you think you know, achieved, and attained in your assumed truth will be overshadowed and overpowered by this eclipse of darkness. It is important that we understand this hour, the scripture called the hour of darkness, where the Bible says darkness will cover the Earth and gross darkness. The people, I am truly and will be fully ready and prepared for the eclipse of the lights or sun. It is phenomenal that we understand that light always prevails over darkness. Light always overcomes darkness.

There is a moment in God’s sovereign will, knowledge, and wisdom when God allows darkness to overshadow your victory. God allows darkness to overshadow light, which is something that a normal, natural human mind would not be able to imagine or comprehend. This is why the Bible calls it darkness: a darkness victory. This season certainly is a season of reevaluating our sense of understanding, truth, and interpretation of what we define as light.

Just as the sun was overshadowed by darkness during the recent eclipse, we can expect to see many things that we assume to be true being overshadowed by various forms of darkness in both our hearts and society. It’s important to understand this context when dealing with the recent eclipse in North America. The false light that has been accepted as the Gospel is now being judged so that people can see the true light and embrace it fully.

In my view, this eclipse is giving the Church leaders globally another opportunity to reexamine its theology and spiritual emphasis as the Body of Christ. The false teachings and preaching that have almost become a pervasive culture in most Western Christian gatherings only see God in their fashioned image, a good that is always good and always provides for their needs regardless of their spiritual condition.

Isaiah 50: 9
Surely the Lord GOD helps Me. Who is there to condemn Me? See, they will all wear out like a garment; the moths will devour them. 10 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD; let him lean on his God. 11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who array yourselves with firebrands, walk in the light of your fire and of the firebrands you have lit! This is what you will receive from My hand: You will lie down in a place of torment.

The Western version of Christianity worldwide has created a different image of God for itself; it has used the Bible to fashion a narrative, a silhouette of truth that is convenient for its own version of spirituality. What this [eclipse] darkness means should be clearly understood in the light of God’s wisdom, in the revelatory knowledge of what God wants to do through his Church so that we can develop the perspective and attitude of understanding. The right belief system and trust to allow God to rearrange our lives back to the correct order of biblical faith and spirituality are major demands for all seekers of the appearance of Christ in this season.

Darkness will be given that moment of seeming victory in our space in our lives, and what we do during those periods where we seem defeated and disappointed will determine how we are going to be ready and prepared for the ultimate war that is coming. The coming eclipse could come in the form of failure, disease, death of very close loved ones, persecution, deep financial loss, rejection from very close loved ones, or Church ministry.

It could come in the form of whatever it is that we believe and think that we should have, we should know, we should understand, or we should have had victory in, and those things seem to be, in fact, overcoming us; that is what the Bible of darkness it’s not like not prepared. You’ve not prayed; you have fasted and meditated on the word of God, but it seems you are not overcoming; you have not done all the things that needed to be done.

Yet, there’s a greater lesson that heaven wants to teach about moving from will-power spirituality to learning to trust and totally surrendering to the Lord for every thought, imagination, and decision you make. Learning to trust in him, who is able to save your soul, is a place they desire to bring us on this third day. Learning to lean and trust in the wisdom of God is an ongoing spiritual dedication that everyone must accept at the end of the day.

Hebrews 5:7 During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. 8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered.

The church needs to be awakened and realize the higher operations of God’s prophetic mandate as we move into a season of the eclipse of the Earth. The church must understand what is taking place and what will be taking place in the seasons to come that there will be. There will be seasons where there will be eclipses within our lives, our space, our homes, our families, our marriages, and what we define to be our ministry.

Science is so advanced today that it can predict not just the movement of an eclipse but also the next season or period of the next eclipse. In fact, it is able to predict the next eclipse that will take place on the earth, and this is phenomenal in terms of being able to accurately identify when the next eclipse is going to take place.

What this implies is that we shall have that sense of accuracy in our walk with God and our interactions with heaven, such that when the seasons of darkness or the next eclipse manifest themselves in our lives or our region, we should be prepared. Yes, we can be prepared.

We need to be prepared, and we must be prepared to engage and deal with the next eclipse. How did Jesus’ deal with the eclipse of the season? He’s surrendered to the wheel of his father. He understood that this is the hour this period in time, this moment in time is an hour that the Father in his wisdom and his understanding in his council has allowed for sudden things to be manifested that is prophetic intention, for the redemption of creation comes into the fold.

We must be able to trust God’s wisdom as we develop a deeper sense of relationship, faith, commitment, and hope in the Lord. Our hope, faith, and love for God must surpass all forms of dogma, traditions, religious activities, and spiritual expectations that are not aligned with the wheel of God.

We must come to a day in our walk with God where we’re able to totally yield ourselves, commit ourselves, and trust ourselves in today’s dealings with God so that he himself is the one in charge when we are faced with our own season of darkness that will come upon the face of the Earth. I believe this is the passage into the third day of victory as we see Jesus was able to use the eclipse of Office time that moment; he was crucified on the cross. He uses that as a gateway and a passage into life. As we have been told, death is the passage to life and the resurrection.

If we want to become a true, victorious, conquering church at the end of days, we need to know how to handle our seasons of eclipse. We must learn to understand and deal with the eclipse by surrendering to the wisdom of God in order to find true life. Therefore, those who are wise and tracking the mind, heart, and will of God for this season will see beyond the natural eclipse and the celebrated event. They will look deep into their souls and see the eclipse that is coming because that is where the real eclipse affects us – in the heart and soul of man. We need to know how to guard the lines of our minds and how to surrender ourselves to God.

We must learn how to position ourselves in trust and have faith in what has been entrusted to us so that we don’t falter, give up, or compromise during times of darkness. We all know that darkness doesn’t bring about any progress; during such times, we need to trust in the Lord, wait patiently on Him, yield ourselves, and depend on God’s promises. This is not a time to rely on your own human strength and willpower to fight. If you do, you will be defeated and overwhelmed. Instead, you must learn to let go and trust the present moment completely. Please listen carefully and try to understand what I am saying.

I am not suggesting that we have to devote seven years of our lives to facing the challenges that arise in the darkness. What I mean is that darkness is a testing time for our faith, a refining period for our trust and belief, and a time when the enemy unleashes his attacks on us to bring us down. If we stumble and fall, it is important that we learn from our mistakes and weaknesses, so that we can rise again and put our trust in the Lord, who has given us salvation.

We need to learn valuable lessons from our mistakes that can help us grow in our knowledge and character of our Lord. This growth can help us become overcomers. But how can we increase our commitment, faith, and acknowledgment of the Lord’s wisdom and sovereignty? If we can testify that we have overcome the challenges we faced during our transition, then we can move onto a new dimension of spiritual life that is characterized by victory and a closer relationship with God. This is the passage that leads to a more fulfilling life as we continue to advance towards the place of God’s pleasure.

The changing seasons of our lives, marked by challenges, trials, tests, temptations, frustration, suffering, and needs, should not deceive us into thinking that we are weak and defeated. Rather, we must recognize that these are opportunities for us to demonstrate our love, faith, and hope. We must trust in the wisdom of the Lord to guide our hearts through these periods of eclipse, allowing us to enter into the next frontier of God’s prophetic demands and requirements for our lives.
